It’s been a long time! The last time we shot out a post the Crown Casino were still running an Aussie Millions event!
We have entered the post COVID poker era where casinos are in some hot water making it near impossible to run tournaments based on time based limitations. This has opened up the Australian market to all the acronyms know to man to step up meet the demand, the poker demand. So we see them almost every week whether it be APT, APL, WPT, SPT, ABC (jokes), but you get the picture, let alone the non acronym based games such as Matchroom, Cyprus, Poker Palace and many others I’m sure I have missed.
One thing is for certain, live poker is here and here to stay in Australia.
Everything you can think of … No Limit Holdem and PLO … but is this really all we can think of? While these are very well supported variations of poker, its just the tip of the iceberg. If you have followed my blog at all you know I have a soft spot for mixed games (check blog here) and decided it is time to take this love of other variations public!
This passion of mixed games has seen the birth of ‘Mixed Games Academy’ where education is key, education to new players on “how to play” as well as dealers and TD’s to ensure the best possible experience for all players.
So I would like to formally introduce the “Mixed Games Academy” where you will find the most variations of poker being played live in Australia.
The inaugural series to be held in January 2023 will boast up to 11 variations being taught and played throughout the week including the following mixes:
- H.E.R.O.S. (Holdem, Stud Hi/Lo, Razz, Omaha Hi/Lo & Stud)
- Triple Triple Draw (2-7, Ace to 5 & Badugi)
- 8 Game mix (2-7 Triple Draw, H.E.R.O.S., NLH & PLO)
- 9 Game mix (8 game mix plus 2-7 No Limit single draw)
- 2-7 No Limit single draw
